At 9th & Thomas, we’re all about keeping Seattle’s music scene loud, proud, and local. Think of our Living Room Lobby as SLU’s version of a garage band hangout — intimate, a little punk, and full of creative energy. If you’ve spotted the Lance Mercer music photography lining our walls, you already know we have a soft spot for the Rock N’ Roll roots of this city.
From live lobby performances to Sofar Sounds concerts, plus a lobby soundtrack curated by KEXP’s own DJ John Richards, we’re creating a home for music-lovers and musicians alike. Whether you wandered in for the playlist or showed up for a secret show, we invite you to move, mingle, and make some noise with us.

Behind the Music:
Living Room Photography — Lance Mercer
Featuring on & off-stage photos of Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Sweetwater, Mad Season, and Mother Love Bone
Born and raised in Seattle, Lance Mercer began documenting in his early teens the punk scene, as well as life with his friends and their bands: unique individuals who would eventually become the voices behind one of the PNW’s most important musical movements.
