From live lobby performances to Sofar Sounds concerts, plus a lobby soundtrack curated by KEXP’s own DJ John Richards, we’re creating a home for music-lovers and musicians alike. Behind the Music:
Living Room Photography — Lance Mercer
Featuring on & off-stage photos of Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Sweetwater, Mad Season, and Mother Love Bone
Born and raised in Seattle, Lance Mercer began documenting in his early teens the punk scene, as well as life with his friends and their bands: unique individuals who would eventually become the voices behind one of the PNW’s most important musical movements.

Sofar Sounds is reimagining the live event experience through curated, intimate performances in hundreds of cities around the world. 9th & Thomas partners with Sofar Sounds to bring several concerts to our Living Room Lobby throughout the year. The concerts span musical genres, presenting 3 new artists each concert. Artists aren’t revealed until the day of the concert and the venue address is only revealed 36 hours before. Our friends at 9th & Thomas get a sneak preview of our venue and enjoy discounts for regularly visiting our building. So… can you keep a secret?
